Recovering capabilities
The foundation of our therapy approaches
Realistic treatment targets
The aim of every rehabilitative measure is extensive recovery of capabilities and capacities lost by our patients through illness. Given the scarcity of resources, a rational treatment must serve realistic and pragmatic objectives. Recent research has proven clearly that after brain damage functions can be restored more easily if the desired function is initiated and trained realistically. If e.g. a patient is supposed to learn to walk again, this is only possible if he also really practices walking. Therefore therapy of practical and everyday relevance is integrated into the ward routine as much as possible.
Integration of nursing care and therapy
An effective treatment that helps the patient rapidly can only work if the entire nursing and therapeutic staff “pull together”. As a team, we look beyond the departmental boundaries. Therefore the patient benefits from a flexible approach to the distinctive performance qualities of various professional groups.
Evidence-based, individually modelled therapy
“Evidence-based medicine” means that therapeutic techniques are applied that have been proven effective by scientific investigations. That does not mean that the value of other experience is ignored. The therapy is always carefully developed to meet individual needs.
